USS Pampanito with Alcatraz in the background
The USS Pampanito is a diesel/electric submarine used in WWII to patrol the South Pacific. Decommissioned shortly after the war, the sub now serves as a museum permanently moored on San Francisco’s embarcadero.
This photograph was taken about 30 minutes after sunset. White balance was set to account for the low pressure sodium vapor lights on the dock which turned the sky a very dark blue.
